Elephant’s Trunk Nebula

Finally back in the game again!

After several months without any astronomical nights (too bright during the summer), I’m finally finding some dark skies!

This is the Elephant’s Trunk Nebula, approximately 2400 light years from Earth in the region of Cepheus. It is a concentration of interstellar gas and dust within a much larger ionized gas region.

Gurresta Observatory, 9-10 September 2022. Bortle 4 (full moon), 5,5 hours of integration. Skywatcher EQ6-R Pro, RASA8, ZWO ASI294MC Pro, Idas NBZ.
