Galaxies and dust

At home in Sweden for the holidays after the autumn in Cambodia for work. I’m only in Sweden until January so I was hoping for at least a few clear dark nights. But so far, only one of them, the night before Christmas.

I used that night well and got a couple of distant galaxies. This one is the Bode’s Galaxy, M81 and the smaller Cigar Galaxy, M82 on the side in the photo. They are both approximately 12 million light years away from Earth and surrounded by a lot of star dust.

It feels god to gather photons from far away (distance and time) again!

You can see the photo here.
